BACK TO YOUR ROOTS
VOGUE NIGHT ON JUNETEENTH

June 19, 6:30-10:00p
LUSH THEATER & LOUNGE
FREE for dancers, FREE for spectators

The evening will begin with an open-format session where community members can explore ballroom categories, get on the floor, ask questions, and receive guidance from experienced participants. This section emphasizes learning, expression, and skill-building. Following the session, we will transition into a casual vogue night format, running a few categories like Performance, Face, Runway, and Realness to give participants an opportunity to walk and apply what they’ve explored.

This event is intentionally structured to lower the barrier to entry into ballroom, making space for new learners, curious supporters, and emerging artists. It’s part jam, part education, part celebration.

This event is centered around and prioritizes BIPOC queer individuals, specifically those ages 18 and up in the Twin Cities area. It is open to all who are interested in ballroom, but our intention is to uplift and provide space for queer and trans people of color first and foremost.

Whether someone is completely new to the ballroom scene or looking for a low-stakes space to sharpen their skills, The Session offers room to move, ask questions, and build community. Allies and supporters are welcome to attend with an understanding of the space’s purpose and priorities.
